OVERVIEW AND MANIFESTO

OVERVIEW

                      The Mindanao Peace and Development Council (MPDC), a Non-Government Organization was organized last 22 April in Jolo, Sulu amidst the conflict affecting several municipalities and barangays in Jolo Islands in the province of Sulu in the Southern Philippines.
                     It was first conceived as an umbrella organization for other NGOs and Civic Religious Groups deeply concern with the sad plight of the affected families in the troubled areas in Mindanao. The positive reactions from some NGOs, Civic Religious Groups and the Professional Sectors has eventually inspired the proponents of this organization to formally organize the Mindanao Peace and Development Council whose primary aspiration and objective is to provide maximum assistance in coordination with some groups of people motiva1ed to provide humanitarian aids to people who are in need of help, regardless of race, beliefs and/or tribal origins

MANIFESTO

                      We, the undersigned officers, leaders of NGO’s civil-religious groups do hereby solemnly manifest our common aspirations to help, assist the constituencies of any conflict-affected areas of Sulu and Mindanao as a result of any violent actions by com6atants and/or a natural calamities accruing on and off in the areas with end in view of providing them relief goods, medical and other allied technical assistance, including temporary job placement to sustain  their livelihood for the duration of the conflict  or natural calamities


                  We further manifest and solemnly declare that the MINDANAO PEACE AND DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL (MPDC) shall be a Non-Profit, Non-violent Organization whose primary aspiration and 0bjective is to provide maximum humanitarian aids to people in need of help regardless of race, 6eliefs and/or tribal origins.

                 Now, therefore, we hereby affixed our signatures on the 28th  day of 'May 2007, in Jolo, Sulu, Republic of the Philippines.
